Job summary

Rapiscan Systems is seeking a High Voltage Technician to join its specialist production and engineering team. You will be involved in the build, installation, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage systems, working with Manufacturing Engineers and the Cargo Research Team to support next-generation products.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, fault finding, and ensuring compliance with high-voltage safety procedures, ISO9001 standards, and accurate documentation of tests and configurations

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience with high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage safety procedures including switching and lockout/tagout.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Experience in regulated production or engineering environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, commission, and maintain high-voltage equipment including converters, transformers, filters, and control systems.
  • Carry out diagnostics and fault finding on high-voltage systems using specialist tools and test equipment.
  • Support monitoring of system performance and assist with operational testing and control activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in full compliance with high-voltage safety procedures, technical standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including maintenance records, test results, and system configurations.
  • Operate in accordance with ISO9001 audited quality systems and procedures.
  • Support product quality investigations and root cause analysis of failed hardware.

  • Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the companys Code of Ethics and Conduct.
