Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a High Level Hygiene Operative at Pladis Aintree in Liverpool to join the hygiene team. You will carry out specialist cleaning of elevated surfaces, beams and other high-level areas to help keep food manufacturing areas safe and compliant.

This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months, full-time (35 hours per week, 7:00am–5:00pm) with a 4 on 4 off pattern and a pay rate of £14.08 per hour. The role requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out allocated high-level cleaning tasks in line with site procedures and hygiene schedules.
• Clean elevated areas, beams, pipework and other designated high-level surfaces.
• Remove dust, debris and residue safely to prevent contamination of production areas.
• Use approved access equipment and cleaning gear only when trained.
• Support periodic and specialist cleaning activities across the site.
• Ensure cleaning is completed to prevent contamination of production areas and equipment.
• Follow all height safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Use PPE correctly for each task.
• Report damage, defects or hygiene risks promptly.
• Complete cleaning records accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with the hygiene team to support wider site cleaning needs.

We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused and detail-driven High Level Hygiene Operative to join our hygiene team at Pladis Aintree (Jacob's)

This role is responsible for carrying out specialist high-level cleaning across the site, helping to maintain safe, clean and compliant food manufacturing areas. You will be involved in cleaning elevated surfaces, overhead structures, beams, pipework, framework, vents, ledges, walls, external equipment surfaces and other high-level areas where dust, debris or product residue may build up.

This is an important specialist hygiene role that supports food safety, audit readiness, contamination control and overall site standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out allocated high-level cleaning tasks in line with site procedures, Cleaning Work Instructions and hygiene schedules.
• Clean overhead structures, high-level ledges, beams, pipework, framework, vents, walls and other designated elevated areas.
• Remove dust, debris, product residue, cobwebs, build-up and other contamination risks safely and effectively.
• Use approved access equipment and cleaning equipment correctly, where trained and authorised.
• Support periodic, deep-clean and specialist cleaning activities across the site.
• Ensure cleaning is completed in a controlled way to prevent contamination of production areas, equipment, ingredients or packaging.
• Follow all working at height procedures, risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Use the correct PPE and safety equipment for each task.
• Report damage, defects, access issues, unsafe conditions, pest concerns or hygiene risks immediately.
• Complete cleaning records and task documentation accurately and on time.
• Work positively as part of the hygiene team and support wider site cleaning requirements where required.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous high-level cleaning, industrial cleaning, food manufacturing, PASMA or IPAF experience would be beneficial.

  Confidence working at height, where trained and authorised.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• A good understanding of hygiene, housekeeping and food safety expectations.
