Job summary

Get Staff is recruiting for Tramper Container Driver HGV Class 1 (LGV1, Cat C+E) with immediate start for Portsmouth and Chichester. This temporary contract role offers early starts around 4.00am–6.00am, with pay rates from £17.00 to £25.00 per hour, plus higher rates for night outs.

Weekly pay, ongoing bookings, and 24-hour support are provided. The ideal candidate will hold an HGV1 licence, a valid DP World Card, CPC, Digital Tachograph card, and have at least one year of container driving

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 1 (C&E) licence.
• DP World Card validity.
• Driver CPC (DCPC) valid.
• Digital Tachograph card valid.
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence.
• Minimum 1 year HGV1 container experience.
• Strong level of English (spoken, written).

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 articulated lorries for container transport.
• Complete deliveries and collections efficiently.
• Log activities on device in real time.
• Follow site procedures, particularly in port environments.
• Log driving hours, breaks, and rest periods per WTD.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols and policies.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain professional service to clients and customers.
