Job summary

Air Products PLC in Worcester is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our UK & Ireland Distribution team. You will maintain, inspect, diagnose and repair HGVs, trailers and cryogenic delivery equipment, ensuring fleet safety, reliability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Technology.
• Experience maintaining HGVs, trailers or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Good communication, teamwork and record-keeping abilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs and trailers (3.5t to 44t GVW).
• Maintain cryogenic vehicle systems, including tanks, pumps, valves and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and interpret schematics and data.
• Complete maintenance records accurately using paper and electronic systems.
• Ensure compliance with DVSA, HSE and company safety standards.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, testing and fault-finding to maximise fleet reliability.
• Follow safe working practices, risk assessments and operating procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills in cryogenic vehicle maintenance, with full on-the-job training provided to become an Automotive/Cryogenic Vehicle Maintenance Technician. Working as part of the UK & Ireland Distribution team, you will carry out the maintenance, inspection, diagnostics, and repair of HGVs, trailers, and cryogenic delivery equipment, ensuring all fleet assets are safe, reliable, compliant, and operational.

Key Responsibilities
