HGV Workshop Supervisor

Overview

Are you a Senior HGV Fitter/Mechanic/Technician looking for a Supervisory role? Looking for a workshop based role in the Matlock area? Are you looking for a Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm day shift role? Permanent, Full-time role, 40 hours per week, Salary up to £46,000p/a. This is a role for a Senior HGV Technician who is looking to take their career to the next level into a chargehand or supervisory level.

Responsibilities

• the productivity and overall efficiencies of a busy workshop.
• to oversee the day to day activity.
• ensuring that Jobs are allocated via a card system to the Vehicle Engineers.
• Making sure that the work has been carried to the correct specifications and within the time frames.
• Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure the correct equipment is being used to carry out the repairs and to ensure correct stock levels are maintained.
• Whilst this is a Workshop Supervisor role, you may be required to jump on the spanners and assist the mechanics in the workshop. The type of vehicles worked on range from heavy goods vehicles (HGV's), road tankers, MOD, GSE, gritters, RCV's Refuge vehicles and road sweepers.

Qualifications

• Ideally for this Workshop Supervisor role you will be fully qualified to (City & Guilds) or NVQ level or equivalent.
• What is also important is that you are used to vehicle transaction systems and have solid IT skills.
• This role would suit someone who has had experience of working in a similar role within a HGV or Council Fleet workshop environment and has good commercial vehicle knowledge from a technical perspective.
• The Fitters under your guidance are highly skilled. They will be looking after a mix of Diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles, it is therefore important that you are up to date with modern vehicle technologies.
