Overview

HGV Workshop Supervisor

Are you a Senior HGV Fitter/Mechanic/Technician looking for a Supervisory role?

Looking for a workshop based role in the Matlock area?

Are you looking for a Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm day shift role?

Permanent, Full-time role, 40 hours per week, Salary up to £46,000p/a

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for the productivity and overall efficiencies of a busy workshop.
• To oversee the day to day activity.
• Ensuring that jobs are allocated via a card system to the Vehicle Engineers.
• Making sure that the work has been carried to the correct specifications and within the time frames.
• Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure the correct equipment is being used to carry out the repairs and to ensure correct stock levels are maintained.
• Although this is a Workshop Supervisor role, you may be required to jump on the spanners and assist the mechanics in the workshop.
• The type of vehicles worked on range from heavy goods vehicles (HGV's), road tankers, MOD, GSE, gritters, RCV's Refuge vehicles and road sweepers.

Qualificatons/Requirements

• Experience in a similar role within a HGV or Council Fleet workshop environment and has good commercial vehicle knowledge from a technical perspective.
• The Fitters under your guidance are highly skilled; they will be looking after a mix of Diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles, so you are up to date with modern vehicle technologies.
• Fully qualified to (City & Guilds) or NVQ level or equivalent (ideally).
• Experience with vehicle transaction systems and solid IT skills.
