Job summary

NMS Recruit in Dartford is seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Driver to join a busy commercial vehicle operation. The role involves moving vehicles around the yard and workshop, and returning completed vehicles to customers.

You will work in a fast-paced workshop environment, maintaining high safety standards and liaising with service reception and workshop controllers. This is a permanent, full-time role with a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence required.
• Previous experience as an HGV Driver.
• No more than 6 points on your licence and no DR10 convictions.
• Solid understanding of driver regulations and road transport law.
• Professional, customer-focused and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Move HGVs and commercial vehicles around the yard and workshop.
• Position vehicles for servicing, maintenance and repair.
• Sign vehicles in and out of the site.
• Ensure vehicles are parked and stored safely.
• Liaise with Service Reception and Workshop Controllers regarding movements and keys.
• Return completed vehicles to customers as required.
• Support day-to-day workshop operations and maintain high safety standards.
• Manage multiple vehicle movements in busy periods.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Workshop Driver to join a busy commercial vehicle operation in Dartford.

This is a key position within the workshop, helping to ensure vehicles are moved safely and efficiently around the site and returned to customers when required.

The role would suit an experienced HGV Driver who is comfortable working within a fast-paced workshop or transport environment and enjoys a varied, hands-on position.

The Role

• Moving HGVs and commercial vehicles around the yard and workshop
• Positioning vehicles ready for servicing, maintenance and repair
• Signing vehicles in and out of the site
• Ensuring vehicles are parked and stored safely
• Liaising with Service Reception and Workshop Controllers regarding vehicle movements and keys
• Returning completed vehicles to customers when required
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the workshop
• Maintaining high standards of safety across the site
• The site can become extremely busy, so you'll need to be comfortable managing multiple vehicle movements throughout the day.

What We're Looking For

• A valid HGV Class 1 licence
• Previous experience working as an HGV Driver
• No more than 6 current points on your driving licence
• No DR10 convictions
• A good understanding of driver regulations and road transport legislation
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A professional and customer-focused approach
• The ability to use your own initiative and work independently
