Job summary

DEKRA UK Management is seeking an HGV Vehicle Inspection Engineer to cover field-based work across the country. You will conduct inspections at dealerships and compounds, ensuring safety and quality standards are met during pre-purchase, end-of-contract, and warranty assessments.

You will travel within your region, produce precise reports, and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to DEKRA's reputation as a leading independent inspection provider.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in HGV vehicle maintenance, servicing, or MOT inspection.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and cosmetic inspection processes.
• Ability to produce clear, accurate reports.
• Full clean HGV Class C driving licence (not essential but could be area dependent).
• Ability to work independently in a field-based role with excellent organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality HGV vehicle inspections, including pre-purchase, end-of-contract, and warranty evaluations.
• Travel within your assigned region to dealerships and compounds, following appointments arranged by the deployment team.
• Produce accurate, detailed, and timely inspection and audit reports in line with company standards.
• Assess both mechanical and cosmetic condition of vehicles, ensuring compliance and quality benchmarks are met.
• Deliver a professional and customer-focused service, maintaining strong relationships with clients.
• Assess cosmetic condition and, in some cases, a visual mechanical check may be required of vehicles to the Customers Return Standards, ensuring quality benchmarks are met.
• You'll travel across your designated region, carrying out detailed inspections on HGVs at dealerships and compounds, ensuring every vehicle meets the highest safety and quality standards.

Contract: Full time, Permanent (Part Time availability dependent upon area)

You'll travel across your designated region, carrying out detailed inspections on HGVs at dealerships and compounds, ensuring every vehicle meets the highest safety and quality standards.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience in HGV vehicle maintenance, servicing, or MOT inspection
• Strong knowledge of both mechanical and cosmetic vehicle inspection processes
• High attention to detail with the ability to produce clear, accurate reports
• Full clean HGV Class C driving licence (not essential but could be area dependent)
• Ability to work independently in a field-based role with excellent organisational skills

Nice to Have:

• Relevant mechanical or automotive qualifications or apprenticeship
• Previous bodyshop experience
• Prior experience in formal vehicle inspection or audit environments
