Job summary
Ford & Stanley Talentwise is seeking an experienced HGV Trailer Technician to maintain and repair trailers in our Cheshire facility. You will diagnose electrical and hydraulic faults and perform regular servicing to ensure safety and uptime.
The role covers day and night shifts with overtime potential. A strong background in trailer mechanics and adherence to health and safety standards is essential.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in HGV, trailer, or commercial vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, braking systems, suspension and general trailer mechanics.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and ability to read wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Perform safety inspections in accordance with regulations and standards.
- Utilise diagnostic equipment to identify faults and implement repairs.
- Complete service documentation and compliance records accurately.
- Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Support workshop colleagues and maintain a safe, tidy workspace.
- Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards.
