Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician in Livingston to maintain and repair a fleet of trailers. The role involves servicing, inspection and diagnostics with a focus on trailer components, safety inspections and accurate record-keeping.

You will work on day or night shifts with 4 on 4 off pattern, earning £24.00 per hour on days or £26.00 per hour on nights, with overtime paid at 1.5x. Opportunities for training and career development are highlighted in the role.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV/LGV/Trailer Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
• Experience working on trailers is desirable.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• Commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on trailers.
• Inspecting trailers and identifying mechanical faults.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Working on braking systems, suspension, lighting and other trailer components.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
• Ensuring vehicles and trailers are safe, roadworthy and compliant.
• Working effectively as part of a professional workshop team.
• Potential opportunity to participate in an on-call rota.
