Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Trailer Fitter to join a busy workshop in Lancashire. You will service, repair and inspect a diverse fleet of HGVs, trailers and specialist transport equipment to ensure safety, reliability and compliance across the operation.

Based from a fully equipped workshop, you will work on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, with opportunities for overtime and ongoing training within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician or Trailer Fitter, with hands-on maintenance.
• Knowledge of braking systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics.
• DVSA inspection standards and vehicle compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
• Conduct trailer inspections, MOT preparations, and safety checks per DVSA.
• Repair braking systems, suspension, axles, lighting, and running gear.
• Maintain and repair ancillary equipment including generators and lighting towers.
• Complete maintenance records and inspection documentation accurately.
• Ensure all work is safe and compliant with procedures and regulations.
• Support breakdown response and emergency repairs when required.
• Assist with fleet compliance and preventative maintenance schedules.
