Job summary

A regional airport authority in Newcastle is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to service and maintain a variety of vehicles. The ideal candidate has a full UK driving license and experience in the motor industry. Benefits include generous leave, pension scheme, and onsite health support.

Role Overview

As an experienced HGV Technician who s looking for a new challenge with a great work-life balance and structured work schedules? You will work a combination of 8 and 12 hour shifts over a 4 week rota. You ll use your skills and experience to service, maintain and repair a wide range of vehicles, including HGVs, PSVs, plant machinery, light vehicles, and cars.,

Responsibilities
  • Tyre replacement and hydraulic repairs
  • Inspecting and reporting on vehicle condition, roadworthiness, and safety
  • Functional testing and diagnostics
  • Servicing and repairing vehicles, plant, equipment, and components
Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, willing to apply own initiative.
  • Confident and articulate communicator with ability to engage with a wide variety of people and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Delivery of excellent customer service and flexibility to meet business needs, sometimes working unsupervised.
  • Experience of working in a busy, dynamic environment.
  • Experience of working within the motor industry, specifically with large vehicles and mobile plant.
  • Qualifications in Heavy/Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
  • Clear understanding of industry standards and Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrate no relevant criminal record when required by the Department for Transport regulations for access through the Critical Part at the Airport.
  • Dependable, hardworking, and proactive approach.
