Job summary

A leading vehicle manufacturer in Glasgow is seeking an HGV Technician for a night shift role, working 3.5 nights per week. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and relevant experience. HGV Technician - Nights, Glasgow West

Shift Pattern on rotational basis

Week 1: Monday - Wednesday 19.00 - 07.00 | Thursday 19.00 - 01.00

Week 2: Tuesday - Thursday 19.00 - 07.00 | Friday 19.00 - 01.00

Do you hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and have previous experience working on HGVs, or have you completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry?

As part of our team at Volvo, you will work a 39-hour week on our rotational night shift, earning up to £20 per hour with overtime, a quarterly bonus, and excellent earning potential.

What you will do

• Carry out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of trucks from various manufacturers.
• Perform fault finding and repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, etc.
• Ensure repairs are completed to a high standard following Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly.
• Assist in fault diagnosis.
• Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license).
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Accurately process all relevant paperwork.
• Report all vehicle defects.
• Maintain workshop facilities, equipment, and tools.
• Support the development of trainees and apprentices.
