Job summary

TP Select is recruiting on behalf of our client to strengthen their maintenance team with experienced HGV Technicians. You'll inspect, service, and repair vehicles across the HGV fleet, keeping them safe, compliant, and roadworthy.

This role features a 4-on-4-off night shift pattern with 12-hour shifts, and requires hands-on experience with heavy vehicles, a proactive approach to fault finding and safety, and the ability to work with planning and operations teams.

Qualifications

• IRTEC, City & Guilds Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or BTEC National Certificate in Vehicle Repair and Technology.
• Hands-on experience with heavy vehicles.
• Fluent English and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are MOT prepared, serviced, inspected, and repaired on time and in full, in line with DVSA and Operator's Licence requirements
• Complete paperwork to meet health, safety, and food safety standards, tracking service history for a full audit trail
• Deliver excellent, proactive customer service
• Operate relevant MHE (where applicable, permitted, and authorised), following correct procedures at all times
• Report accidents promptly, in line with our client's accident reporting procedure
• Follow all company policies, including Uniform Guidelines and the Health and Safety Policy, promoting a positive safety culture
• Use food-safe chemicals for work carried out in fridge trailers, flagging any food safety concerns immediately
• Take on other reasonable tasks as requested by your Line Manager

Experienced HGV Technicians Needed

TP Select is recruiting on behalf of our client, who is looking to strengthen their maintenance team with experienced HGV Technicians. You'll be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing vehicles across the HGV fleet, keeping everything safe, compliant, and roadworthy.

Our client needs an HGV Technician with genuine hands-on experience of heavy vehicles, plus a proactive approach to maintenance, fault-finding, and safety.

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off — 12-hour shift

HGV Technician Responsibilities

• Methodical, organised, and able to work to strict deadlines
• Previous experience working within a similar role, business and/or industry

• Physically fit, given the demands of working with heavy goods
• Fluent English speaker, comfortable liaising with Planning and Operations teams and customers, in person and by phone, and able to work independently
