Job summary

Ford & Slater Rugby is looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join the team at our DAF Trucks Depot in Leicester. The role involves servicing and maintaining trucks and vehicles, as well as conducting fault diagnostics and MOT preparation. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in mechanical roles and a vehicle maintenance qualification. Qualifications

• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician or Mechanic in associated sectors.
• Skills to follow company processes for completing all paperwork accurately.
• General computer literacy is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Fault Diagnostics and MOT Preparation.
• Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures.

We currently have a vacancy for an HGV Technician in the fantastic team at our DAF Trucks Depot in Leicester.

Who are we looking for as an HGV Technician:

• You will have previous experience working as an HGV Technician / Mechanic within the HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, Car or an associated sector.
• Ideally have a qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Or a time served HGV Technician.
• Skills to follow company processes for completing all paperwork including accurate completion of job cards and service records.
• General level of computer literacy is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

The HGV Technician responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Servicing and maintaining a wide variety of Trucks and Vehicles. Fault Diagnostics. MOT Preparation. Mechanical and Electrical repairs. Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner. Road test vehicle when required, subject to licence restrictions. Attend any technical or development training that is made available.

Shift Pattern: Week 1, Monday to Friday 6am – 2:30pm. Week 2: Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9:30pm plus 8 hour Saturday shift paid as overtime.
