Qualifications

  • Industry qualifications at Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician or similar role.
  • Ability to meet DVSA Standards for vehicle assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs to heavy goods vehicles and trailers.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of vehicles.
  • Maintain workshop inventory and cleanliness.
  • Assist in diagnosing and planning repairs.
  • Document repairs and maintenance actions.

Skills

Job description
Overview

ROLE: HGV Technician

LOCATION: Wellingborough

SALARY: £20 per hour basic + bonus + benefits

HOURS: 40 hours a week

Currently looking for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Technician / Plant Technician for my client based in the county of North Northampton.

Responsibilities
  • Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled
  • Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management
YOU
  • Industry qualifications achieved to a minimum of Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or mechanical engineering
  • Previous working experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Technician with a strong technical background
  • You will need the ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards
  • Full UK DL
