Job description
Vehicle Technician – Stockton‑on‑Tees

Schedule: Monday‑Friday with a paid weekend rota (approx. 1 in 5 weekends) and occasional overnight stays.

What You’ll Do
  • Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and remedial work on solar PV systems (AC & DC).
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fixes as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults using industry‑standard testing equipment.
  • Produce clear, accurate site reports via the online reporting system.
  • Conduct job‑specific risk assessments, report near‑misses, and ensure strict health & safety compliance.
  • Supervise and coordinate third‑party contractors when required.
  • Maintain detailed electrical test records suitable for audits.
  • Work occasional nights away or on weekends (with extra pay).
Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience on utility‑scale, ground‑mounted solar PV O&M projects.
  • Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical Installations.
  • C&G 2382-18.
  • C&G 2391-52 (or equivalent testing qualification).
  • HV AP qualification.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of AC & DC systems and experience using testing tools.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable: Harness‑trained, First Aid & Fire Marshal training, IOSH Health & Safety qualification, experience with central inverters, SCADA, CCTV or battery‑storage integration, familiarity with high‑voltage systems (33 kV).
