Job description
Overview

HGV Technician. We are searching for motivated, reliable and hard-working HGV Technicians of all levels of competency who will be based from our client's depot in Lea Green. The role includes various shift patterns as outlined below.

Shift patterns and pay
  • DAYS 4 ON 4 OFF: Level 3/Time served: £18.92 per hour
  • DAYS 4 ON 4 OFF overtime: Level 3/Time served: £26.02 per hour
  • NIGHTS 4 ON 4 OFF: Level 3/Time served: £23.65 per hour
  • NIGHTS 4 ON 4 OFF overtime: Level 3/Time served: £28.39 per hour
Hours

6:00 am – 6:00 pm – Full continental four on four off day shift (30 mins unpaid lunch)

About the employer

Our client is a franchised Scania dealership which has 5 depots throughout the North West of England. They operate 24 hours, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. Their facilities include leading-edge vehicle technology and diagnostic equipment, and a structured personal training and development program tailored to each individual. This depot works solely on one customer’s fleet as a VMU and therefore works slightly differently to the usual dealership environment.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out diagnostics, inspections, service routines, repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner, with the most effective use of your time
  • Reporting findings and carrying out all repairs to the current manufacturer’s standards
  • Reporting to the shift supervisor
  • Investigating and diagnosing faults
  • Observing Health and Safety rules
  • Liaising with the parts department effectively
Qualifications and requirements
  • HGV Technician with Level 3/Time served (or equivalent)
  • Ability to work within shift patterns described above
