Overview

Our client is a private haulage company based between Ashford and Maidstone. Currently they are looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic to join their family-run and friendly enterprise.

Hours

Mon to Fri 8am to 6pm or 8am to 5pm. Every other Saturday 7am to 12pm. Shifts come with 15 mins tea break, 30 mins unpaid lunch.

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspection: Regular checks on brakes, engine, transmission, and other essential systems.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Fixing issues with engines, fuel systems, gearboxes, axles, and more.
  • Diagnostic Work: Using tools and technology to identify faults in the vehicle\'s systems.
  • Part Replacement: Changing worn-out or damaged parts such as tyres, exhausts, batteries, and suspension components.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring vehicles meet all legal and safety requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Keeping detailed records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Customer Interaction: Occasionally, they may need to explain the work done to customers or the fleet manager.
Qualifications

  • Experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic
