Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic.
• Good understanding of HGV systems including engines, brakes, electrics and diagnostics.
• Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Class 1/2 beneficial but not required).

Our client is a well‑known and reputable HGV dealership based in Livingston. Currently they are looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic to join their busy depot.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Conduct MOT preparations and safety checks
• Complete service sheets and repair documentation accurately
• Work to DVSA standards and company policies
• Perform roadside breakdown support when required
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in HGV Maintenance or equivalent (or strong experience)
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic
• Good understanding of HGV systems including engines, brakes, electrics and diagnostics
• Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Class 1/2 beneficial but not required)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
