Qualifications

  • Diagnose, service, and repair HGVs and trailers.
  • Complete standard maintenance and major overhauls.
  • Carry out pre-MOT inspections and routine safety checks.
  • Identify and resolve vehicle defects efficiently.
  • Complete all documentation and job cards accurately.

Overview

HGV Technician - Mobile & Workshop
Location: Caerphilly
Salary/OTE: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum
Hours: 1 week workshop, 1 week mobile
Workshop week: 08:00 - 16:30
Mobile week: 06:00 - 14:30, then on-call


We're looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join a busy dealership in Caerphilly. This is a unique role combining both workshop and mobile/on-call work on a weekly rotation, offering excellent earning potential of up to £65,000 OTE. With recent contract wins and continued growth, this is an exciting time to join a secure and well-supported team.



Responsibilities


  • Diagnose, service, and repair HGVs and trailers

  • Complete standard maintenance and major overhauls

  • Carry out pre-MOT inspections and routine safety checks

  • Identify and resolve vehicle defects efficiently

  • Complete all documentation and job cards accurately

  • Deliver a high standard of work both in the workshop and on customer sites



What You'll Need


  • Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ / IMI) in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in an HGV dealership or fleet workshop environment

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage your workload independently and to deadlines

  • A proactive, safety-first approach
