Overview

Job title: HGV Technician. Location: Avonmouth, Bristol. Working hours: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. 47.5‑hour working week.

Salary

Salary £47,970 per annum plus company profit‑share bonus, c£1,000.00 paid every 3 months. Additional overtime available at £27.00 per hour beyond first 40 hours; double time before 7:00 am at £36.00 per hour.

About the Company

The company is well established, having been in operation for almost 70 years and specialises in commercial vehicle rental. The business has six rental depots with fully equipped modern maintenance workshops in the North and South of England. From these depots they operate in excess of 2,000 vehicles (of which 1,000 are above 3.5 tons).

About the role

The position of HGV Technician will involve carrying out inspection and service routines, repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner. The HGV mechanic will report to the workshop manager and will be able to investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and carry out all repairs to current manufacturers' standards.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of cranes or hydraulics
  • Experience working on tippers, tipper grabs or beaver tails
  • Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) HGV licence
  • HGV qualifications (time‑served is also fine if you have a good number of years' experience on the tools)
