Job summary

A family-owned logistics company in Bradford is seeking an experienced HGV Technician. The role involves maintaining a fleet of vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards, and conducting inspections and repairs. Qualifications

  • Qualification in City and Guilds HGV Part 1, 2 & 3 or NVQ level 3 equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic in a fleet environment.
  • Large Goods Vehicle experience is essential.

  • Maintain a mixed fleet of rigid and articulated vehicles.
  • Conduct vehicle and trailer inspections.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT to DVSA standards.

Overview

HGV Technician

Location: Bradford

Day shifts: Monday to Friday 45-50 hours per week flexible between 5am - 8pm; 1 in 2 Saturdays 8am-12pm

Rate: up to £19.50 per hour

About your new company

My client is a well-established and family-owned logistics business who have been operating for over 10 years. The successful HGV Technician will report to the Transport Manager and will be responsible for maintaining HGVs and enhancing the performance of their fleet of 100 Vehicles. As an integral part of their operation, you will also be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.

About your new HGV Technician role
  • You will maintain a mixed fleet of rigid and articulated vehicles and trailers to the highest standard and in line with DVSA requirements
  • Vehicle and Trailer inspections
  • MOT preparation to DVSA standards
  • Brake testing at every inspection
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Use of diagnostic equipment
The successful HGV Technician will require
  • Qualification in City and Guilds HGV Part 1, 2 & 3 or NVQ level 3 equivalent or a time served HGV Technician
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (post qualification) preferably within a fleet environment
  • Large Goods Vehicle experience is essential
  • Class 1 or Class 2 is Desirable
  • Flexible approach to work

  • Excellent time-keeping skills
