Job summary

Adler & Allan Ltd is hiring a HGV Tanker Apprentice / Drainage Operative in Manchester. The role is permanent, full-time and onsite with up to 4 nights away. You will learn from the Senior HGV Tanker Driver while performing tank and line testing, dewatering, and onsite operations.

The position requires a clean UK driving licence and willingness to undertake training. You will engage with customers on-site, maintain equipment, and complete all required paperwork, with opportunities to take on

Qualifications

• Must hold a full clean UK driving licence with categories to operate up to 3.5 tonnes.
• Experience with RAMS documentation is advantageous.
• Willing to undertake additional training to support the division.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support tank and line testing, and dewatering as required.
• Respond to call-outs for critical issues and take appropriate action.
• Assume site supervisor/lead operative duties when required and lead teams.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and submit to supervision in a timely manner.
• Liaise with customers on-site to discuss ongoing works and future services.
• Maintain the vehicle, equipment, PPE and ensure readiness at all times.
• Support continuous improvement and report potential opportunities to supervision.
• Perform any other duties within your qualification and capability.

Learning from the Senior HGV Tanker Driver

More about the role:

• Operating independently, or as part of team to perform and deliver service to all customers of the Company. This will include for example, tank and line testing, VR testing and tank dewatering. This is not an exhaustive list. Onsite training will be provided.
• Respond and react to call outs for critical issues.
• To satisfy the duties of a site supervisor/lead operative when the occasion is presented. This will include attending site briefings as a company representative and on occasion, act as team leader.
• Carry out near miss & potential incident reporting. In-house training will be provided.
• Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure all equipment, tools, PPE and other work items are in good order and repair and available for use at all times. You will be expected to inform supervision as soon as any damage is identified.
• Completion of all works in a timely manner; this includes all paperwork and submission to divisional supervision.
• Liaison with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities.
• Any other duties for which you are qualified for and capable of undertaking.

Qualifications

About you:

• Must possess a full clean UK driving licence, categories to operate Company vehicles up to 3.5tonne.
• Working on and around Petrol Forecourts.
• Right to Work in UK is essential.
• Previous knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation. (advantageous)
• Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
