Driver Hire Chelmsford & Harlow is recruiting an experienced HGV Refuse Driver for a client in Epping, Essex. The position starts on a temp-to-perm basis with a 12-week period and the potential to earn £48,000 per year on permanent transfer.

You will drive an HGV refuse vehicle, collect domestic bins, and work a rotating shift pattern with early starts. After 12 weeks, a permanent contract and occasional Saturdays are in scope.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year's HGV driving experience.
• Valid HGV licence.
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.
• Comfortable with physical, hands-on work alongside refuse collection duties.

We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Refuse Driver to join our client's team based in Epping. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking driver looking for a long-term, permanent position, with the potential to earn £48,000 per year after successfully completing the initial 12-week temp-to-perm period.

The Role

• Driving an HGV refuse collection vehicle, collecting domestic waste bins.
• Completing approximately 80-100 domestic bin collections per shift.
• All collections are within the same local area, keeping routes manageable.
• Working on a rotating shift pattern.
• Working Monday to Friday during the initial 12-week temporary period.
• Following successful completion of the 12 weeks, transferring to a permanent contract and working 1 in 3 Saturdays.

Shift Patterns

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern as follows:

• Shift 1: 03:00 - 12:00
• Shift 2: 03:00 - 12:00
• Shift 3: 12:00 - 21:00

The shifts rotate in this sequence, with two early shifts followed by one late shift, before repeating. For example: 03:00-12:00, 03:00-12:00, 12:00-21:00, then repeat.

Pay & Benefits

• £16.00-£17.93 per hour during the initial 12-week temporary period.
