Job summary

A global manufacturing business near Leyland is seeking a skilled HGV and Plant Technician. The role offers a salary of £49,000 - £53,300 and requires at least 4 years of experience in maintenance and repair of HGVs and plant equipment. The successful candidate will perform routine inspections and repairs and hold qualifications such as City & Guilds NVQ Level 3. This is a day shift position from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an HGV or Plant Technician.
• Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
• Experience in MOT preparation for tractor units and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HGVs and plant equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Order vehicle parts liaising with the workshop administrator.

gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a HGV & Plant Technician to work at their facility based near Leyland

Performance Objections

• Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, repairs & Mot's on HGVs, Trailers, Pool Cars & Other Plant to VOSA standard
• Diagnose and rectify all types of mechanical & electrical faults using Texa diagnostic equipment
• Dismantle, repair / replace faulty components and test the new ones are working safely
• Liaise with HGV workshop administrator to order vehicle parts
• Good communication and maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment

Person Specification

• 4+ Years of HGV / Plant Technician experience
• Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
• Holds valid HGV Class 1 (C&E) Licence (Desirable)
• MOT Preparation Experience - Tractor Units & Trailers
• Previous experience working with HGVs and Plant, basic welding skills, hydraulic & auto electrical skills
• Hardworking and can work well under pressure in a safe and responsible manner
• IRTEC Accreditation (Desirable)
• Loler competence - experience in undertaking loler inspections - LEEA Apply
