Job summary

A specialist recruitment agency is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to work in Whitehaven, England. Job description

HGV Technician – Whitehaven, Cumbria

Schedule: Days – 38‑hour week – 8am to 4pm. Ongoing.

Questech Automotive Recruitment (on behalf of a Council client) is recruiting an experienced Vehicle Technician. This is a day role and can be PAYE, UMBRELLA, or LTD. If you are self‑employed with a LTD Company or are seeking a temporary position, please get in touch.

We are looking for technicians/mechanics from a commercial, HGV, PSV or LGV background. You will be an apprentice trained, fully qualified technician with experience working with a variety of LGV or HGV vehicles.

Role
  • Electrical, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
  • Setting and operating machine tools and equipment
  • Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if approved tester)
  • Support workshop team members, including apprentice technicians, as required
  • Accurately record time to complete jobs and associated details
  • Use skills and perform other work within normal grade/job skills as required by the workshop supervisor to maximise workshop efficiency
Skills & Experience
  • Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously
