Arnold Clark Group is seeking a qualified HGV Technician in Stoke-on-Trent to inspect and repair heavy goods vehicles in line with DVSA requirements. The role requires a Category C+E driving licence and a strong eye for accuracy.

You will work full-time, Monday to Friday, with day-to-day duties including fault diagnosis, equipment fitting, and thorough paperwork. The company offers training to become EV-accredited and opportunities for salary reviews.

Mansioni

• Carry out periodic safety inspections of all HGVs to DVSA standards
• Diagnose faults in hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
• Attend breakdowns or accident-damaged vehicles and repair as required
• Fit and remove a range of ancillary equipment and livery
• Complete paperwork accurately and update internal systems
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
• Maintain clean and safe work areas
• Carry out other duties as instructed by supervision

Hours

Full time: Monday – Friday 8am – 5.30pm

About the role

As a HGV Technician, you will carry out inspections and repairs in accordance with DVSA requirements, working independently and as part of a busy team. You must hold an appropriate Category C + E driving licence and have high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.

Day-to-day duties

• Carrying out periodic safety inspections of all HGVs to DVSA standards
• Fault diagnosis on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
• Attending broken down or accident-damaged vehicles, repairing as required
• Fitting and removing a large range of ancillary equipment, accessories and livery
• Completing the appropriate paperwork accurately
• Updating internal computer systems
• Ensuring all relevant legislation and health and safety procedures are adhered to
• Maintaining work areas in a safe and clean condition
• Carrying out other duties as instructed by supervisory staff

Essential skills

• Previous experience and an HGV Level 3 automotive qualification
• You must hold a Category C + E driving licence
• Ability to carry out repairs in accordance with DVSA and the Group Operators licence
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Strong communication skills and ability to be a team player
• High standards and a commitment to accuracy
