Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver / Loader to join a Swansea waste collection team. The role is multi-skilled, combining driving with loading duties and leading a small team of loaders.

On non-driving days you will work outdoors in all weather, performing physically demanding waste collection tasks and assisting with loading heavy bins and bags.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence (Category C) and Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 waste collection vehicles and onboard equipment.
• Lead and support a small team of loaders.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Follow health, safety, environmental and drivers' hours regulations.
• Complete required paperwork, tachograph records and route information.
• Provide professional customer service and report collection issues.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a reliable and hardworking HGV Class 2 Driver / Loader to join a waste collection team in Swansea.

This is a multi-skilled role, combining HGV driving with hands-on waste collection and loading duties. You will operate waste collection vehicles, lead a small loading crew and help ensure collections are completed safely and efficiently.

Please note: This is not a driving-only position. On non-driving days, you will work as part of the loading crew, carrying out physically demanding waste collection duties outdoors in all weather conditions.

Key Duties

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 waste collection vehicles and onboard equipment.
• Lead and support a small team of loaders.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental and drivers' hours regulations.
• Complete required paperwork, tachograph records and route information.
• Provide professional customer service and report collection issues.
• On loading days, collect, move and load waste and recycling, including heavy bins and bags.
• Keep collection areas clean and tidy.

Requirements

• HGV Class 2 / Category C licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good driving and road safety awareness.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Thursday, 6am–2pm.
• Friday, 6am–1:30pm.
• Occasional 10am start when required.
