Job summary

Huws Gray Group in Kilmarnock is seeking an HGV Driver / Warehouse & Yard Operative to join our PDM Kilmarnock team. You will deliver to customers, manage stock in the yard and warehouse, and support HIAB-enabled operations.

You’ll need a Class 2 HGV licence, a focus on safety, and a willingness to participate in training and development to support career progression within the group.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Class 2 HGV driving licence.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation relevant to transportation and warehouse work.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to represent the brand on the road.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and dependable delivery service to customers.
• Build strong relationships with customers on the road and represent the brand.
• Keep up to date with Health & Safety regulations and administration related to the role (tachographs, training, delivery notes).
• Carry out routine vehicle checks and look after company vehicles.
• Assist with yard/warehouse operations, stock organization, and product knowledge for customers.

We are looking for a HGV Driver / Warehouse & Yard Operative to join us at PDM Kilmarnock!

PDM are Scotland’s leading supplier of Civils, Above Ground and Multi-Utilities products. Operating across our network of 10 branches in Scotland, we pride ourselves in our technical, knowledgeable, and loyal staff who located at all our depots, can provide technical assistance in offering best advice and solutions to our customers.

We rely on our HGV Drivers / Warehouse & Yard Operatives to make sure products get to our customers when they need them. You’ll be making sure our stock in the yard and warehouse is easily accessible to be picked, loaded, and delivered in our lorries. Working in one of our branches you’ll be part of a team where everyone is putting the effort in to offer brilliant customer service and to get the job done.

Here’s a quick overview of some of the things you can expect to do as an HGV Driver/ Warehouse & Yard Operative with PDM:

• Provide an efficient and dependable delivery service to our customers
• Building great relationships with customers out on the road and representing our brand
• Keeping up to date with all Health & Safety legislation and administration relating to your role (tachographs, training, delivery notes etc)
• Look after our vehicles, carrying out appropriate checks on a routine basis
• Serving our customers in the yard/warehouse providing a good knowledge of the best products for their projects
• Supporting with incoming deliveries, making sure stock in the yard & warehouse is put away correctly and kept tidy in line with Health & Safety guidelines

We’ll support you to gain your HIAB certification if you don’t already have it. Training will be provided by us, and you’ll become fully qualified to operate HIAB equipment. A training agreement will apply, meaning if you leave the business within a set period after completing the training, you’ll be required to repay the cost
