Job summary

MTS Cleansing Services is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver / Drainage Engineer to join our Derby team. This hands-on role blends driver duties with drainage work, offering strong earnings potential through overtime and long-term career progression.

You will operate jetting and suction units, respond to sewer blockages and flooding, and work on private and public land, with training provided and a supportive, family-run environment.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence.
• CPC qualification.
• Ability to work independently and follow remote instructions.
• Professional and courteous when dealing with customers and the public.

Responsibilities

• Operate specialist vehicles including jetting tankers, super suction tankers, and combination units (training provided).
• Respond to emergency callouts, including sewer blockages, flooding, and pollution incidents.
• Work on both private and public land in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Carry out vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift.
• Accurately complete all job documentation.
• Report defects, incidents, and near misses promptly.
• Maintain driver logbooks in line with compliance requirements.
• Ensure PPE is maintained and fit for use.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean, organised, and operational.
• Attend training and support other teams when required.
