Job summary

Travis Perkins plc is seeking an HGV Class 2 Driver in Milton Keynes to move civils and building materials between branches and customers. Training for HIAB will be funded, with emphasis on safety, load security, and vehicle checks before road use.

You will perform local multi-drop deliveries, reload at branches, assist with loading/unloading, and keep your vehicle tidy. This is a Monday–Friday role with no overnights or weekends.

Qualifications

• You hold a Category C Class 2 driving licence.
• Your CPC (DQC) is up to date.
• Recent HGV driving experience; crane/loader experience is a bonus.
• You’re comfortable chatting with customers and building relationships.
• You take safety seriously and work in a professional way.

Responsibilities

• Move stock from branches to customers with local multi-drop deliveries.
• Load vehicles with HIAB and complete required training if needed.
• Ensure loads are safe, legal, and checks are performed before departure.
• Help with loading/unloading and keep vehicles clean.
• Prioritize safety and uphold company standards.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be moving stock like civils, heavy building materials, and drainage solutions from our branches to customers, all while keeping it safe and professional. You’ll load up your vehicle with a HIAB (lorry-mounted crane)—don’t have the licence yet? No problem! We’ll fully fund your training to get you up to speed. You’ll make sure your vehicle’s loaded right, safe, and legal, plus do vehicle checks before hitting the road. Expect plenty of local multi-drop deliveries, with regular returns to the branch to reload. You’ll also pitch in with loading, unloading, and keeping your vehicle clean and tidy. Above all, safety comes first, and you’ll make sure our standards never slip.

Who you are

• You’ve got a Category C Class 2 driving licence

• Your CPC (DQC Card) is up to date

• You’ve got recent HGV driving experience (if you've worked with a lorry loader/crane, even better, but not a deal-breaker)

• You’re comfortable chatting with customers and building solid relationships

• You take safety seriously and always work in a professional and safe way
