Job summary

DPD UK is seeking a reliable HGV Driver to join our York site. You will operate a modern fleet, move bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers, and uphold high safety and service standards.

You will work a 32-hour permanent week, primarily Saturday to Tuesday, with a day and night pay structure including a night-rate premium. The role emphasizes punctuality, GPS-driven logistics, and strong customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (CE) licence, CPC card and Digital Tachograph card.
• Minimum 6 months experience driving Class 1 vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of UK road networks and safe driving habits.
• Ability to work weekends and flexible shift patterns.
• Commitment to safety and accurate, on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries in a timely, safe manner.
• Coordinate trailer swaps and live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Maintain GPS and tachograph compliance for every route.
• Represent DPD professionally with dispatchers and customers nationwide.
• Perform thorough vehicle inspections and promote safe driving at all times.

You’ll be a key player in our national transport department, moving bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers.

• The Mission: Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV-friendly locations.
• Logistics: Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Tech & Compliance: Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain 100% compliant.
• The Face of DPD: Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers across the country. Professional, resourceful, and reliable.
• Safety First: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• The License: Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• The Experience: At least 6 months experience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• The Skillset: Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a "safety-first" mindset.
