Job summary

Generator Power, the UK's largest independent generator company, is seeking an HGV Driver for our Reading depot. You will load/unload, deliver generators and ancillaries to sites, and assist engineers on site across various sectors. The role supports on-site installation and dismantling and requires strict paperwork discipline.

Applicants should hold a Class 2 HGV license, CPC card, ADR license, and a digital tachograph card. Forklift training can be provided.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 license is essential.
• CPC Card is required.
• ADR Licence class 3 tanks and core packages & Class 9.
• Forklift licence is desirable; training can be provided.
• Digital Tachograph Card is required.
• Knowledge of lifting operations/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload vehicles.
• Operate forklift truck.
• Deliver generators and ancillaries to sites.
• Install and dismantle generators on customer sites.
• Assist engineers on site.
• Refuel generators on site.
• Maintain tidy work areas.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Complete and submit company paperwork.

Generator Power is the UK's largest Independent generator company with over 24 years of experience in the industry. Generator Power has grown in recent years and is ready for further expansion. This growth offers the opportunity for a HGV Driver to join the team at our depot in Reading RG2.

Monday to Friday 8-5, 40 hours a week + Overtime rates.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Load and unload Vehicles.
• Operate forklift truck.
• Deliver Generators and ancillaries to site and collect Generators and ancillaries from site (all industry sectors such as hospitals, construction, power grids and festivals).
• Assist engineers on site.
• Refuelling Generators on site and in dept.
• Carry out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy.
• Installation and dismantle of Generators on customer sites.
• Completion of daily vehicle inspections and reporting defects to transport department.
• Completion and submission of all company paperwork as per procedure.

Qualifications/Skills required:

• High school or equivalent.
• Class 2 HGV (Essential).
• CPC Card.
• ADR Licence class 3 tanks and core packages & Class 9 Miscellaneous.
• Fork Lift Truck Licence (Desired but training can be provided).
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Knowledge of Lifting operations / Equipment.
