Job summary

The Timber Group in Maidstone is seeking an HGV Driver to join our team. You will represent the company on multi-drop deliveries and collections, delivering building materials to customers and branches with reliability and courtesy.

Applicants must hold a valid Category C HGV licence. HIAB certification is desirable (training provided), and knowledge of the building industry is a plus. A positive, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Category C HGV licence.
• HIAB certification and experience is desirable, training can be provided.
• Knowledge of building materials is an advantage.
• Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company when out of the branch during deliveries and collections.
• Provide reliable multidrop delivery and collection service to customers and other branches.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and colleagues.

We rely on our HGV Drivers to represent the company when out of the branch whilst providing an effective and reliable multidrop delivery and collection service to customers and other branches.

To fit the HGV Driver role, you will need to be:

• Able to work on your own initiative, but also willing to work as part of a wider team
• A good communicator who is presentable, approachable, positive and polite
• Motivated, energetic and passionate about your work
• In possession of a valid current Category C HGV licence
• HIAB certificate and experience is desirable, but this training can be provided
• Knowledge of the building industry and building supplies would be an advantage

We realise that you are more than just a CV and embracing everyone’s individuality is what makes us great as a team. We can give you plenty of training and equip you with the tools that you’ll need to succeed as a HGV Driver but you will need a Class 2 Licence to carry out this role.

We’ll support you to gain your HIAB certification if you don’t already have it. Training will be provided by us, and you’ll become fully qualified to operate HIAB equipment. A training agreement will apply, meaning if you leave the business within a set period after completing the training, you’ll be required to repay the cost.
