Responsibilities

• Drive and manoeuvre HGVs within the yard and operational areas.
• Position vehicles for loading, unloading, and inspection.
• Conduct basic vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Assist with reversing and docking procedures.
• Maintain records of vehicle movements and yard activity.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job Purpose

As an HGV Yard Driver, you'll be responsible for the safe and timely movement of heavy goods vehicles within the yard and between operational areas. You'll support the workshop, logistics, and delivery teams by ensuring vehicles are positioned correctly and ready for inspection, maintenance, or dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and manoeuvre HGVs (including refuse vehicles) within the yard and between designated areas
• Position vehicles for loading, unloading, inspection, and maintenance
• Conduct basic vehicle checks and report any issues or defects
• Assist with reversing and docking procedures as needed
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and yard activity
• Always ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
