Lanes Group in the UK is seeking a dedicated operative to support our Thames Water contract, delivering wastewater and drainage services. Based at Crossness, Abbey Wood, you will operate in a two-person team with a high-pressure water jet to restore networks and maintain drainage systems.

The role requires travelling to residential sites, recording reports, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to health and safety standards.

Responsabilités

• Travel to residential sites in a two-person team using a high-pressure water jet to restore drainage networks.
• Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
• Record each job report on the specialist equipment provided.
• Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Maintain health and safety practices during works.
• Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
• Comply with PPE and safe site protocols for protection of staff and road users.
• Use VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
• Operate vacuum tankers and related equipment.
• Access vehicles, sites and offices safely (three points of contact).
• Handle piping and hoses safely and load/unload as required.
• Work unsupervised in all weather, with correct PPE and lone worker systems if needed.
• Conduct risk assessments and stay mindful of risk.
• Adhere to company policies and promote our values.
• Support colleagues and assist with ad-hoc tasks as requested.

Purpose of the role:

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

Location: Crossness, Abbey Wood

Job Type:Permanent, full-time

Hours: 4 on 4 off, 40.25hours (earlies and lates)

Salary: £35,573 per annum

Overtime: Paid at time and a half

Key Responsibilities:

• Travelling to residential sites via a HGV in a two person team, around the region, powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration

• Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems

• Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided

• Run diagnostics and repairs on drains

• Delivering good customer service

• Maintaining good health and safety practise while carrying out works

• Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished

• Comply with health and safety responsibilities, i.e. PPE / safe site setups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users

• Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms

• Operate JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment

• Safely access vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures (e.g., three points of contact…)

• Manipulate (including loading and unloading to / from tanker pipe storage trays) flexible pipework in a safe manner utilising correct manual handling techniques

• Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE or utilising the lone worker system

• Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival

• Liaising with the client regarding process and any updates

• Provide support to your colleagues

• Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use

• Report any defects or malfunctions

• Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception

• Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them

• Any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management
