Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking experienced HGV Cat C+E drivers for an ongoing container-focused role in Southampton. You will deliver and collect containers from the dock to local firms, with trunking up to the Midlands.

Work pattern is typically Monday to Friday, with 10 hours minimum per shift and potential to move to full-time. Applicants must hold a full UK Class 1 licence, CPC and Digi card, and a valid DP World Card.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Full UK Class 1 licence.
• CPC and Digi tachograph card are required.
• DP World Card is desirable for dock operations.
• Induction and driving assessment will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect containers from the dock to local companies or trunking to the Midlands.
• Trunking day or night up to the Midlands, with curtain side double decker work.
• No hand-balling involved.
• Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring containers are secured.
• Report any issues to the night manager.

***ONGOING CONTAINER WORK***

Here at The Best Connection we are looking for experienced HGV Cat C+E Drivers to join our client based in Southampton. This is an ongoing role, with potential to go full time with a contract.

Salary - £17.00 / £18.50 per hour

Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday 10 hour minimum

Location - Southampton

Start Time - AM OR PM SHIFTS

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Delivering and collecting containers from the dock to local companies or Trunking up to Midlands.
• Day or Night trunking up to the midlands with General Haulage so Curtain side double decker work
• No hand-balling involved
• Vehicle checks, making sure the containers are secured
• Reporting any issues to the night manager
• Start time differ depending on route/run

WHAT IS REQUIRED/BENEFITS:

• Must complete driving assessment & induction
• Container experience is essential
• Must have been in and out of the docks
