Job summary

Driver Hire Manchester is hiring an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver for a permanent role based in Wythenshawe, Trafford. The position offers a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with an early start. Temporary-to-perm progression is available as you move onto the client's payroll.

You will operate a Class 2 vehicle, manage refuse/recycling collections, and support safe, clean streets. Competitive pay includes holiday pay and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full Category C Driving Licence is required.
• Experience driving Class 2 vehicles is essential.
• Valid CPC and Digital tachograph experience required.
• Basic literacy skills are expected.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain safety standards.
• Strong customer care orientation is valued.

Responsibilities

• Operate the HGV and collect refuse/recycling from designated locations following a set route.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and complete required paperwork.
• Communicate instructions from supervisors to crew and adhere to health and safety at work rules.
• Maintain positive relations with the public, customers and client representatives; handle queries politely.
• Carry out and assist with loading responsibilities.
