Job summary

HG Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 driver for a Newton Le Willows role. You will perform multi-drop deliveries to retail and hospitality clients, ensuring accuracy in paperwork and safe vehicle operation.

This full-time position offers days shifts and a pay rate of £16.81 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay), with an estimated weekly gross of £756.45 based on 45 hours.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence (Category C).
• Possess valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience in multi-drop deliveries (cash & carry or FMCG preferred).
• Good knowledge of local road networks.
• Physically fit for manual handling.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries to retail, hospitality, and business customers.
• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle in line with road and safety regulations.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Load and unload goods, often involving manual handling.
• Ensure all deliveries are accurate and properly documented.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery points.
• Follow planned routes and delivery schedules.
• Adhere to driving laws, working time directives and tachograph regulations.
