Overview

Class 2 HGV Driver required in Hampshire

TLP Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a local Hampshire company for an experienced Class 2 HGV Day Driver.

Your role

You will be operating a range of Class 2 vehicles and working closely with a team of loaders and recycling operatives to ensure timely and safe collection of recycling goods from residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and operate a variety of HGV Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Follow pre-planned routes to collect recyclable materials including paper, plastics, metals, and other goods
• Assist with the loading and unloading of recyclables when required
• Ensure all collections are completed in accordance with company guidelines and local council regulations
• Carry out vehicle checks and report any faults or defects
• Maintain accurate records of collections, mileage, and fuel usage
• Communicate effectively with the transport office and collection team
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures and road transport regulations

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous experience in a waste management or recycling environment is desirable but not essential
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Physically fit and able to assist with loading when necessary
• Knowledge of Hampshire roads and routes is an advantage
