Job summary

A respected contracting firm in Wakefield is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 DISAB Driver / Operator for a permanent, full-time position. Responsibilities include safely driving and operating DISAB vacuum tankers, working across a variety of sites, and supporting site set-up and demobilisation. Candidates must hold a valid HGV Class 2 Licence and have proven experience with DISAB vacuum tankers. Fluency in flexibility regarding overtime and weekends is also required. This role offers a competitive salary and enhanced overtime rates.

Job description

Location: Wakefield.
Salary: £35,815 – £41,990 per annum + enhanced overtime.
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time.

Role Overview

• Safely drive and operate DISAB vacuum tankers and related equipment to remove, collect and transport materials such as sludge, silt, dust, aggregates and waste products.
• Work across various industrial, construction, utilities and environmental sites, including highways, drainage networks, quarries and treatment plants.
• Support site set‑up and demobilisation, including positioning hoses, ensuring safe access and working in confined or hazardous environments where required.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 Licence and CPC Certification.
• Proven experience operating DISAB vacuum tankers.
• Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends.

Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday – 47.5 hours per week.
• £14.50 – £17.00 per hour (DOE).
• Enhanced rates for overtime.
