Job summary

Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd is seeking a plant delivery and collection driver to operate from our Gloucester site. You will handle nationwide delivery and collection of plant and equipment, and be responsible for loading and securing loads.

A Class 1 LGV C+E licence and Driver CPC are required; some nights away are expected. Training will be provided, and prior plant experience is welcome but not essential. This family-run business offers progression opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Holding a class 1 licence (LGV C+E) and Driver CPC.
• Ability to load and secure loads (training provided).
• Some nights away required (not international travel).
• Previous plant delivery experience preferred but not essential.
• Clean driving record and safety minded.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting plant and equipment nationwide.
• Load and secure all loads during transport.
• Occasional nights away from home (not tramping).
• On-the-job training provided.
• Maintain professional conduct and comply with site safety rules.

Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.

We are now seeking a plant delivery and collection driver to operate from our new site in Gloucester. The successful candidate will have a class 1 licence (LGV C+E), drivers CPC and be used to working in a physical and driving role (you will be required to secure loads).

Responsibilities for the job role:

• Delivering and collecting various plant & equipment nationwide
• Responsible for loading & securing all loads (training will be provided)
• Some nights away will be required (not tramping)
• Training will be provided
• Previous experience of plant preferred but not essential.
