Job summary

JT Recruit Ltd has a client seeking a HGV Class I driver for ongoing, temporary work starting 5 January 2026 in the United Kingdom. The role pays £17.93 per hour for the first 8 hours, rising to £20.78 per hour after 8 hours.

Responsibilities include safe delivery/collection, completing all paperwork in real time, and maintaining compliance with tachographs and road regulations. The driver will work with the transport team, follow route plans, and uphold high standards of customer service,

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV I Licence.
• Previous professional driving experience required.
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning abilities.
• Ability to follow operational, legal, and H&S procedures.
• Strong time management and punctuality are essential.
• Able to work in teams or individually as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient delivery and collection services to customers.
• Adhere to start times and contractual requirements.
• Record delivery documentation and electronic PODs in real time.
• Maintain tachograph, driving time, and Road Traffic Act compliance.
• Conduct pre-shift vehicle checks and report defects.
• Engage with road transport teams in daily briefs and de-briefs.
• Act professionally with customers and the public, wearing PPE as required.
• Follow company policies on medicals and fitness to drive.
