Job summary

Culina - Great Bear in Lutterworth is hiring experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to support deliveries for key customers. You will carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises and complete palletised haulage to Regional Distribution Centres.

Role requires valid C+E licence, 12 months+ HGV1 experience, and good knowledge of Driver's Hours and tachograph rules. A 24/7 operation with generous benefits and development opportunities is on offer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience; no new pass drivers for this contract.
• No more than 6 points on licence; no DD/DR convictions.
• Current DCPC and Tachograph cards; understanding of Driver's Hours legislation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to RDCs with backdoor tip where required.
• Support occasional tipping or multi-drop deliveries; report delays promptly.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects; maintain vehicle and trailer.
• Adhere to tachograph rules, working time directives and on-site health and safety.

Job description

We're looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Great Bear team in Lutterworth, supporting deliveries for key customers.,

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with most deliveries completed as backdoor tip.
• Support occasional driver tipping or multi-drop deliveries depending on customer demand.
• Occasional Night out may be required
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and communicate any delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies promptly.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company rules and procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and adhere to tachograph rules and regulations.
• Complete daily vehicle checks in line with company procedure and report defects correctly.
• Take responsibility for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
  Valid C+E Licence.
• Minimum 12 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred; unfortunately, we cannot accept new pass drivers for this contract
• OR drivers who wish to consider transitioning from Class 2 to Class 1
• No more than 6 points on your licence and no DD or DR code convictions.

• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.

Shift patterns available:

• Any 5 in 7 nights, Start times from 12.00 pm, 55 hours per week

Pay Rates:

• £43,144 per annum, this includes shift supplements & Overtime paid at £22.62 per hour & a £3000 annual night allowance, As part of our drive to make Great Bear a great place to work.
