Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is hiring experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for our Worksop site on a 24/7 operation delivering to Regional Distribution Centres nationwide. Secure a permanent, full-time driving role with a focus on safe, professional customer deliveries.

Shift patterns include Monday to Friday nights (start times around 15:00). We offer flexible 5 from 7 patterns, potential weekend work, and a night shift allowance of £1 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence.
• Minimum 6 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred; new pass drivers not accepted.
• No more than 6 points on licence; no DD or DR convictions.
• Current DCPC and Tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of Driver’s Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with most deliveries completed as backdoor tip.
• Support occasional driver tipping or multi-drop deliveries depending on customer demand.
• Occasional night out may be required.
• Report to Transport team at shift start and communicate delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned.
• Follow company rules including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage working time in line with Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Take responsibility for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.

We’re looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Great Bear team at our site in Worksop, This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent, full-time driving role with a 24/7 operation, delivering goods to Regional Distribution Centres nationwide.

Shift patterns available:

• Monday to Friday Nights (Start times between 14:00 - 19:00, ideal start time around 15:00)

Our Shift patterns are working any 5 from 7 and we offer flexibility in shift patterns and start times so if you are looking for weekend work or different start times, let us know what you’re looking for, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Salary: £15.16 per hour plus £1 per hour Night Shift allowance

What you’ll be doing

What we’re looking for
