Lineage Logistics is recruiting a HGV Class 1 Driver for the Gillingham depot. Monday to Friday days, with night shifts possible as required, and an emphasis on safe, compliant multi-drop deliveries.

The role pays £16.19 per hour for all hours up to 39 per week, with overtime at time and a half thereafter. You will work with Transport Managers, perform checks, and maintain accuracy in loading, dispatch, and documentation.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months Class 1 driving experience and a valid Class 1 license.
• Digi-Tacho, DQC card and Driver CPC are required.
• Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations.
• Comfortable working night shifts.
• Excellent communication and numerical accuracy.

Responsabilités

• Support Transport Managers to keep operations running smoothly.
• Ensure vehicles are legal and roadworthy with daily checks.
• Report vehicle defects.
• Perform multi-drop deliveries safely and on time.
• Load/unload with pump truck and tail lift where needed.
• Drive safely within tachograph and driver hour laws.
• Verify goods and obtain signatures on delivery.

Shift Pattern

Monday - Friday working on Days

Hourly Rate

£16.19 per hour for all hours worked up to 39 hours each week. Overtime after 39 hours worked each week, is paid at time and a half.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Transport Managers to ensure all functions of the operation is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Ensure the vehicle is always legal and roadworthy - all daily checks are completed in line with the ‘Daily Vehicle Check Sheet’ and in line with the 'Guide to maintaining road worthiness'.
• To ensure any vehicle defects are reported.
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
• Complete manual and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs.
• Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
• Drive within tachograph law and driver hour limits.
• Ensure the correct goods have been loaded and are secure before moving the vehicle.
• Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print.
• Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Transport Manager's attention if necessary.
• To ensure that your DCPC periodic training hours are maintained and completed within the five-year period.

What are we looking for?

• At least 12 months Class 1 driving experience & Valid Class 1 license.
• Full valid Driving Licence and Digi-Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC.
• Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations and someone who is comfortable with working night shifts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Numerical, and focused on accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to operate tail lift and PPT when required.
