Job summary

Menzies Distribution Solutions Ltd is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver for a 4 On/4 Off Tramping pattern based in Telford. You will undertake deliveries and collections for Menzies and clients, with flexibility to operate Class 2 vehicles as needed.

The role requires a current license in appropriate categories, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a company medical and driving assessment. Nights out may be required in line with operations.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have no more than 6 points (current) on their license and no endorsements for DD/DR offence codes.
• Moffett licence desirable but not essential
• Must have a current, valid license appropriate to the category required (C1, C, or C+E)
• Candidates with a non-GB license must provide evidence of GB registration (Form D9)
• Must be capable of passing a company driving assessment
• Experience loading/unloading and delivering goods to customer premises; multi-drop experience preferred
• Good knowledge of the UK geography and drivers hours/WTD regulations
• Must hold a current digi-tacho card and be able to pass a company medical
• English literacy and numeracy standards are required

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate Class 1 and 2 vehicles as required.
• Deliver and collect goods to customer premises and Menzies locations.
• Maintain professional appearance, PPE, and company standards.
• Complete pre-use checks and proper load documentation.
• Report vehicle defects, hazards, or H&S issues promptly.
• Secure loads and ensure safe, compliant handling of goods.
• Ensure load paperwork and PODs are completed and returned.
• Follow EU and GB tachograph rules and company policies.
