Job summary

Culina Group is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to join the Great Bear team in Skelmersdale, delivering palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres nationwide as part of a 24/7 operation.

Shift pattern is 4 on 4 off Nights, 6pm to 6am, ~40.25 hours/week. Pay includes £15.35/h plus supplements and overtime, with potential earnings up to £17.60/h on night shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV Class 1 driver with safe driving record.
• Deliver palletised goods to customer premises and RDCs.
• Follow tachograph rules and respect health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with most deliveries as backdoor tip.
• Occasional Night out may be required.
• Report delays or load discrepancies promptly to Transport team.
• Complete paperwork and ensure PODs are signed and returned.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent, full-time driving role with a 24/7 operation, delivering palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres nationwide.

Shift pattern:4 on 4 off Nights, 6pm to 6am (40.25 hours per week)

Pay Rate: £15.35 per hour, plus:

• £1.00 per hour 4 on 4 off shift supplement
• £1.25 per hour night shift allowance
• Overtime paid at 30% extra of the hourly rate

Potential earnings: Up to £17.60 per hour on standard night shifts.

What you’ll be doing

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with most deliveries completed as backdoor tip.
• Occasional Night out may be required
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and communicate any delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies promptly.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company rules and procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and adhere to tachograph rules and regulations.
• Complete daily vehicle checks in line with company procedure and report defects correctly.
• Take responsibility for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
