Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd in Alfreton, Derbyshire, is seeking an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver for weekday work with an immediate start. You will drive to multiple stores across the UK, with some yard shunting and ensuring vehicle presentation and compliance.

You must have a valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence, CPC, tachograph card, and up to six penalty points. Independent, professional communication and good GPS skills are essential. On-site parking and weekday schedule are available.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence with endorsements.
• Minimum one year’s proven experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver.
• Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.
• Excellent driving standards, with a maximum of six penalty points.
• Confident using GPS and other route-planning systems.
• Able to work independently, follow instructions accurately, and communicate professionally.

Responsibilities

• Driving to multiple stores across the UK.
• Some shunting in the yard.
• Representing the company professionally while working with customers, clients, and site teams.
• Keeping the vehicle clean, tidy, and compliant with company standards.
• Completing pre-shift vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly.
• Liaising with customers and clients in a professional and courteous manner.
• No handball and no weekend working.

We are recruiting for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join a well-established company based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, just five minutes from Junction 28 of the M1. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, customer-focused driver looking for steady weekday work, competitive pay, and an immediate start.

Expected earnings:£4,000–£4,500 per month.

Pay and Allowances

• Hourly pay: £15.46–£17.33, inclusive of holiday pay.
